Why Let Them Learn Affiliate Marketing?

Posted on 16 January 2009 by KantonFC

Some people asked me why I do give my techniques I’m using in affiliate marketing for free. Am I asking for more competition in internet marketing? What do you think?

The answer is simple.

Not all people are going to do what they just learned. They will have mental debate whether all the things they just read are for real. So even I gave out all the techniques I’m doing, maybe only 20% of those will be doing it.

And of course, things that people get for free are being perceived as no value. How’s that? So am I really giving away the information?

So how would you know whether the information you collected is for real? Just try it, whether it’s from a guru or from this learn affiliate marketing blog. Okies?

I guess you’re right! I’ve reading a lot of articles about affiliate marketing but i never have a slightest interest of applying of what i have read. I like reading them because most of them are really interesting stuff, but its just marketing is not in my blood.

I am more than agree. I have real experience of this. I told about this to my 5 friends, only 1 of them started doing something. So I highly doubt this industry will become more compete like others may think:)

  3. MySpace Layouts Says:

Yeah i tried it and recommended some peoples but got only single person involved in it.

  4. Cath Says:

you are absolutely right. Those who will do it are the people who are only interested. But not all… so sharing will never be a problem.

Hey I am one those people who undergoe mental debates on whether all the things I read are for real. :)

But the again, like you said, how would I know whether the information I read is for real unless I try it.

    Thanks for sharing this.

You are right, it doesn’t matter if you give stuff away or charge for it, the 80/20 rule will still apply. Most people will simply move onto something else that they won’t do. Its a never ending cycle especially for newbies. If everyone actually implemented the stuff they learn every day in IM, there would be a whole lot more competition.

you are absolutely right. I have an seo company and i tell people how i do things all the time. Very few people have the extra time or drive to do anything outside their day to day jobs. So keep sharing and you will continue to drive traffic to your site.

internet is full of information about how to earn money, but less than a 1% (I dont know actual statistic :) ) actually are earning something.

    P.S.

Tips and strategies on Your blog are as good and even better than in majority of non free e-books I have read

I have to agree that not all will use the information, but even if they did, this market is so huge that you would not even put a dent in it. Another reason to give away useful information is to build a fan base and buld trust with your followers. You can give away free marketing PDF’s or direct visiters to your informative articles.

Free information is the best way to gain trust but most people take it and just give up, blaming their failure on information overload. If they actually get motivated and set ‘clear’ goals, then they will appreciate the free info but it is how you market and in what niche that will determine competition.

  11. David Merrick Says:

20% of people will use it? That’s where you’re wrong. The number’s more like 3%. At most.

People definitely value things more that they paid for. Robert Cialdini wrote about a lady who doubled the prices in her brick and mortar store and multiplied her sales by 10x just because people thought the quality of the products were higher due to the high price.

  12. Matt Says:

David is right. If you were to charge for the same info though a membership or ebook more people would apply the info they paid for. It is nice that you do not charge.

there are many ways to earn money, all you need to do is work hard and work smart.`:’
