It’s been a while since I post here on KantonFC. I just don’t feel posting another rehashed story from my experiences not only in Affiliate marketing but in Internet Marketing. But who knows, maybe my next post will be another rephrased story.
Back to topic…
I just noticed that many bloggers are doing some keyword hijacking to get visitors from search engines. If you are not familiar with keyword hijacking, it is some sort of targeting your post with a high volume searches but those keywords aren’t within the topic of your site.
Why webmasters keep on doing these stuffs? Well I don’t know. Ask your local keyword hijacker.
Twink!!!
I know… I know…
If you are running Adsense or another Ad networks to your favourite site, then this technique might be useful for you. Since more visitors is equal to more $$$, many bloggers are doing this strategy. I’m not against this method since it is another favourable method for any webmaster who wants flood of clicking traffic to their site. If you need more traffic, then try to use this method, but if you want more quality traffic, then read on…
For an affiliate marketer, more traffic doesn’t really mean you’ll earn more bucks.
Why?
Just imagine if your site offers Golf Clubs, then how is a searcher who landed to your wonderful site that is looking for a Voting Result is going to buy Golf Clubs from your site? Ok, maybe there’s an exception.
Again, if you are looking for more traffic, then go for keyword hijacking. But if you are looking for quality traffic, then choose the right keywords. Just see which suits your needs.

Erm, it’s the first time i heard about keyword hijacking. Actually the only benefit might be the webmaster can increase the alexa rank by increased volume of traffic but won’t help you earn on affiliate commissions.

I would like to do a little keyword hijacking as that’s easier than plane hijacking I guess..
Traffic is a that any webmaster would love to have and this seems a pretty fun idea.

Keyword hijacking is a waste of time. I’ve tried it and got a high traffic keyword for one of my page but the bounce rate it 99% and most of the visitors just land on that page for a split second.
Even if you have adsense on your site and have lots of poor quality visitors, smart pricing will be much worst. So just stick on targeting keywords related to your site.
