High Ticket vs Low Ticket Products or…

Posted on 21 January 2010 by KantonFC

Maybe we can change the title of this post later on, but we would like to use that for the mean time.

If you may know, some affiliates will say that you need to sell high ticket items for you to get high commissions. And other say that you only need to sell multiple low ticket products which are easier to sell. Well…

Maybe I can say that most of the time, the effort you will exert in promoting low priced products is almost the same as promoting those expensive products. So, which is better to promote???

As we all know, holiday season is a great time to promote physical products. I did…

But…

The commissions are quite low. I only earned few cents to maximum of less than $5 for every sale I made. Meaning, I need to sell multiple products in order to get hundreds of dollars in commissions.

When I compared my earnings with these low priced products to one of the expensive products I promote, I only need to have 1 sale of this expensive product in order to get the commissions I received in promoting multiple low priced products. So you decide…

Another thing I want you to check is the percentage of commissions. I realized that it’s one of the most important things an affiliate must look. Or maybe not only percentage, but also the earnings you’ll get once you made a sale.

But still, it’s up to you on what kind of products you want to promote as an affiliate.

I just started with affiliate marketing. My instinct tells me to go with higher priced items. It seems to me that it’s going to take me the same amount of time and effort to learn SEO whether I bother with cheap items or go for expensive ones. It seems to me that if I learn how to get 100 people to visit my site a day and get 1 to buy, I’ll make a lot more selling 1 item at 1000 dollars than 1 item at 19.99. I’m just saying.

Seems to me that selling anything in this economy is difficult for most people.

To sell you must be someone that people trust and who offers plenty of value.

Anybody serious about this business normally sells both low priced and high priced products in their affiliate sales funnel.
