Way back when Google, Yahoo, Astalavista, etc. is not as genius as nowadays; your site can rank very high in a short span of time. But everything changed.

But the good news is…

There are some old SEO techniques that are still valuable nowadays.

So, are you one of those who only wants fast rankings…or are you the one who uses little yet useful SEO implementations?

I prefer the latter…

Anyways, did I told you that when I started SEO, I only want the best? That was before.

If you added various simple SEO implementations, it will add up and become powerful technique.

For example…

if you add some keywords in you IMAGE ALT tag…that would be extra point…

if you add your keywords in your TITLE tag…that would be another point…

how about Keyword in your TEXT LINK? It’s another boost…

You get the point?

Just implement simple techniques and you can make sure that it’s not “useless”, but it’s an extra boost for your rankings.

Another Keyword Research Software?

Posted on 16 February 2009 by KantonFC

As an affiliate marketer, you should know that one of the steps you should be doing is by doing keyword research. Ok, that’s not new. But I want to ask you…

Do you know whether the keyword you’ll be using for your PPC or SEO campaign will be profitable? You wouldn’t know unless you have seen the results, right? Especially if you rely on keyword research software.

After long hours of doing keyword research, you’ll feel tired and yet still thinking whether it would be worth of your effort. That’s ok, unless you love doing keyword research, you wouldn’t feel lazy.

But…

What if I told you that there’s a simple way to do keyword research and of course, instantly know whether these keywords are profitable.

Seems impossible? Hahaha…

Do you know the saying that you should know who your competitors are? By knowing who among of your competitors have the profitable keywords and knowing what these keywords are, will lessen your tedious task in doing keyword research. And as a bonus, those profitable keywords have been selected for you. Now, that’s “let others do work for you” in action.

The other day, I downloaded this FireFox Keyword Research plugin that will instantly reveal what keywords your competitors are bidding in PPC. After I searched for a specific keyword, all the keywords that my competitors are bidding shown on my computer screen. And I was really shocked with that plugin. I didn’t know that there are such geniuses who can really make the keyword research easier than before.

I know you are now thinking what’s that plug-in… And the more I give you the idea, the more like to use it as soon as possible…

By the way, I’m not telling just competitors, they are those top competitors that are hiding from every affiliate marketer so nobody will know what their doing.

But of course, not now because you can now easily see what keywords they have.

So are you ready?

Quality Directory Inclusion

Posted on 06 September 2008 by KantonFC

How do you promote your website using Search Engine Optimization (SEO). We all know that one factor that affects the search engine ranking is having quality links pointing to your site. So how do you build this quality backlinks?

If you have been reading SEO forums before, you may read a thread that about directory submission. Then other members will be against directory submission, others don’t. Because of this, you are confused whether you want to submit your website to directory for listing and link building. Some will say it is useless, it will hurt you ranking and all other negative comments.

In my opinion, just submit your website to directory for inclusion. If you want to submit to 2000 plus directories, do it. If you want to submit to 10 directories, do it.

So how do I submit my website for inclusion?

Firstly, I don’t submit my website to 2000 directories as it will be very time consuming. So what I do is I pick around 10 high PageRank (PR) directories and submit it for inclusion.

So if you want to get or build your backlinks and doesn’t have much time for directory submission, is to create a list of high PR directories and submit it to these directories.

Just a quick note, you may spend a few dollars if you will be submitting your website to these quality directories. But remember that one quality directory inclusion might be equivalent to a hundred of directories.

Link Building Easily

Posted on 06 October 2007 by KantonFC

Are you still asking yourself what’s the use of link building? Or maybe asking yourself, will this help to generate traffic to your site?

Many SEO specialists and other webmasters who are optimizing their website know the value of links pointing to their site. Link building can’t be done overnight. Web owners put effort and time to increase links pointing to their site. Because of this time consuming part of search engine optimization, some website owners hire a company or an individual to do the link building process for their site. And not to say, if you outsourced the link building to someone, it would also take some time to increase backlinks pointing to your website.

So what’s the use of having links pointing to your site? Links can ve compared as a vote to your site. Every link that is pointing to your site can be seen by the search engine as a vote.

As of now, maybe you are planning to do link building, aren’t you? But be careful not to just create a bunch of links pointing to your site. Keep in mind the quality of links pointing to your site. For example, if a webpage contains a link pointing to your site it doesn’t mean that you are getting quality links. Why?

There’s a lot of factors that may affect the quality of links pointing to your site.

1. Pagerank of the “webpage”.
2. Anchor text.
3. Number of outgoing links.
4. Location of link in site structure.
5. Follow and noFollow tag.

The first you may want to do is to find an appropriate website that is the same as your niche. For example, “web design”, find a website that is mainly focus on the “web design” theme. To find this kind of websites, use the search engine and type in the key phrase that you are competing with and try to email the webmaster of those websites that appears on the first page of the search engine result.

Another strategy if you are in a competition, is to search for a keyword or keyphrase that you are competing, then take note of those websites that are listed on the first page of the search engine result. After you have listed all these websites (competitors), try to do some research for those sites that are linking to your competitors and email those webmasters and try to have an exchange link with them.

Again, link building is an ongoing process for optimizing your website popularity and search engine ranking. Few hours every week is an advantage if you will be alotting this for link building.

Nowadays, social bookmarking is a very popular technique for the bloggers to drive traffice to their blogs. Even without doing much search engine optimization, you can generate an acceptable amount of traffic by using social bookmarking.

Some SEO professionals say that they use social bookmarking as part of their search engine optimization strategy. Some will say it is last on the list. But how would we know which would be better among the two techniques to drive traffic to your site?

If I am just looking for an audience to my site, I may prefer to do social bookmarking “only”. But I were to offer something, I’ll do both SEO and Social Bookmarking.

As you may know, if your site is highly optimized for a specific or variety of keywords, visitors from search engines going to your site maybe considered as targeted and there’s a possibility that it can be converted to a potential customer. That’s why social bookmarking is widely used in blogosphere since bloggers won’t sell something, except for advertisements which only needs viewers, and they just need regular readers to their blog.

To have more traffic visiting to your site whether you just want readers or not, consider doing both SEO and Social Bookmarking since it won’t hurt your site if you will be doing these two strategies in driving traffic.

For Social Bookmarking, you must keep your readers enticed with your writings to keep them visiting your site. There’s a lot of tips you can found within the blogosphere, I can’t write all the tips here since I have not tried most of them. If I can see some good results with the product of their wild imagination, I’ll share it, but if not, just leave it.

Start doing SEO and Social Bookmarking now and keep traffic flowing to your site.
