Last few months, I literally stopped “touching” my affiliate sites. And needless to say, I did have some pending sites needed to be put up.
But the other day, when I was reading a book, the interest in completing that pending site suddenly exploded. And because of that, I turned ON my notebook and finished the site in less than 2 hours. Hmmmm…
As you can see, sometimes we need some push to ourselves in order to complete the things need to be done. Before I started to continue that pending project, I promised not to browse social networking site until I finished that site.
Anyways, since I still have the “momentum” in creating more sites during that day, I did some research on what to promote next and what to do next and next and next…
So if you have some pending projects lying inside your PC, try to think of some motivation and when the momentum starts to build up, continue doing more until you feel burnt out…hahaha…
And of course, I’d like to hear what your motivation is…

If you have noticed, I don’t have any post during the month for February. It’s not that I’m busy nor hmmm…
Maybe the next few lines might give some help to you especially if you still starting affiliate marketing.
As you may know, I started affiliate marketing few years back. To be honest, I have campaigns that failed and I have more failure campaigns compared to my winning campaigns. Well, that’s part of the game.
Last time, I showed one of my so-called “failed” campaign to one my friend. I told him that I spent few bucks to run it, and the next thing he asked me is…”How much did you earn?”
Oh well, I simply said “Nadah…Yeah…Donut…”.
He backed out…
So what are you thinking right now?
For me, it’s actually taking chances rather that saying it’s gambling.
Why?
If you made a winning campaign, that will give you income without even touching it.
So maybe, out of my 20 campaigns, I only have 2-3 winning campaigns. Take it or leave it.

Maybe we can change the title of this post later on, but we would like to use that for the mean time.
If you may know, some affiliates will say that you need to sell high ticket items for you to get high commissions. And other say that you only need to sell multiple low ticket products which are easier to sell. Well…
Maybe I can say that most of the time, the effort you will exert in promoting low priced products is almost the same as promoting those expensive products. So, which is better to promote???
As we all know, holiday season is a great time to promote physical products. I did…
But…
The commissions are quite low. I only earned few cents to maximum of less than $5 for every sale I made. Meaning, I need to sell multiple products in order to get hundreds of dollars in commissions.
When I compared my earnings with these low priced products to one of the expensive products I promote, I only need to have 1 sale of this expensive product in order to get the commissions I received in promoting multiple low priced products. So you decide…
Another thing I want you to check is the percentage of commissions. I realized that it’s one of the most important things an affiliate must look. Or maybe not only percentage, but also the earnings you’ll get once you made a sale.
But still, it’s up to you on what kind of products you want to promote as an affiliate.

I was reading some post in a SEO forum and someone ask “what is affiliate marketing?”. Without a doubt, many replied to this post.
Some said that you must be skilled in search engine optimization(SEO), some says you must know how to use pay per click(PPC), many says that you should start with market research or top notch keyword research.
As you can see most of these skill sets are needed when you want to start online affiliate marketing. But what does affiliate marketing really means?
Is it just creating sites that full of your own affiliate links and then driving traffic into it? Is it knowing the latest loophole or trick in search engines? I’m not saying these are not needed, but, is that how we define affiliate marketing?
If you are doing all those things, maybe you’re one of those top affiliates in your chosen niche. If not, then you may want to ask yourself, “why?”. Maybe you’re missing some of the latest tricks in driving traffic, or maybe you’re not just really doing marketing.
Don’t get me wrong, I have review sites, niche sites, and anything that you might want to think…lolz… But during those times, I’m thinking…is this affiliate marketing? am I adding real value to this products? how do I add value to these products as an affiliate?
But how do we really define it?
And of course, I want you to ask yourself…”how did the latest internet marketing guru’s product reach me?”…

Hello everyone, It’s been more than a month since I updated this blog. Well, I’m refreshing some affiliate marketing skills that I’ve learned from the past. I took a step back and discovered that there are many things that changed since I learned affiliate marketing.
Just like in Information Technology(IT), we need to update our skills in order to maintain a competitive edge among our competitors. We have to learn new things and adapt the changes, especially big with ‘G’ who keeps changing its algorithm all the time.
If you want to get some latest new within Internet Marketing, I suggest you to visit some popular forums and you’ll discover that there are literally thousands of people learning this IM thing.
But be cautious on reading some posts. There could be useful tips you can gather from them but as usual, there will be unreliable suggestions lying around.
So start updating your IM skills now.:D
